...is the vision of a desert farm in the Negev. A place where troubled souls find rest.
A place for healing, restoration, and peace. An ark on dry land, in the middle of nature.
A home for the restless, a refuge for the oppressed, and a well of deep joy for a
land without water. This vision is soon to become reality. Will you join us? :)
Hi, we are Chris & Joy :) We are 30 and 24 and are currently living together in Germany. "Gold in the Desert" is our dream of starting a farm in the Negev Desert of Israel :) It’s meant to be a colorful project full of people, animals, and agriculture. The gold in the name stands for both the hidden beauty that can emerge from desert times, as well as for the eternal value of the people we want to take care of over there. With this farm, we aim to create an ark in the desert, a refuge where troubled souls can encounter God.
To achieve this goal, we are currently learning the languages and cultures of the country, are practicing pastoral care, studying about gardening and animals, traveling through the land repeatedly, visiting and supporting similar projects, and using our creative skills in art and photography to earn us some start-up capital. We are happy you’re here and hope this website inspires you to get excited about our project! You can book us as photographers or support our art in the shop section, you can follow our steps toward the goal in the blog, and see how the vision practically develops under "progress" :) If you would like to become a part of our circle of supporters, or if you just have a question, feel free to reach out to us on the contact page :)
Greetings!
a desert farm as an abundant well for those who are seeking peace
To heal the sick, to help the poor
and to bring the good news to the
prisoners: That is Jesus' comission to us,
and that is exactly why we are here.
In the pains of life, a person's
God-given treasures often get lost. After counseling, we create space to bring
them back to light.
Breaking down unhealthy walls,
finding common ground and discovering God's culture. A tent for reconciliation and Jewish-Arab relationship building.
A few guest rooms in the middle of
nowhere. Places to reflect, seek peace and find rest. Especially created for people
who are facing difficult decisions.
Rows of lemos & pomegranate trees.
Fresh avocados, almonds & dates. We sow and water, God makes it grow. Realizing we're not always in control, keeps us grounded.
Goats, cows, horses, quails, cats,
llamas, sheep... The wild, flourishing life
and the joy of practical work turn into
a blessing for the soul.
A family in which the longing for God is nurtured. A place of loving honesty, radical discipleship and an intensive seeking after God. Without Jesus, it simply doesn't work!
The value of life is immeasurable in God's eyes. If you have questions, need support, want to reflect, or have regrets about something, we are here for you.
Art, creativity, music, colors & dance.
They are an expression of freedom, joy of life, and who you really are inside. Let it
out. We have room for it here.
travel- & experience blog with focus
Here you will find out how we came up with "Gold in the desert", what huge part Jesus played in the whole thing and how the story actually began in the first place. We will tell you about the steps we're taking towards our goal, about our victories and defeats, and hopefully also about the gold we find in failures. We will always try new things, constantly seek Gods guidance and often refocus along the way. At the heart of this blog you will find our trips to Israel. Whenever we can, we head out to visit a bunch of cool, inspiring projects. With every step, we lose more and more of our hearts to the country and its people, and gather a huge dose of new motivation to continue on this path. "Yallah, bo Nelech!" / "Come on, let's go." :)

"By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in
reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household."
